Country: USA Software: Photoshop I gave myself a strange set of rules/ideas in the beginning, and wasn't quite sure where I would end up. I wanted to avoid the cliché'...monsters, aliens, wizards....some super sexy chick with a ridiculous outfit...an so on.I also hoped to create chaos and destruction, while maintaining a passive and indifferent figure. Finally, I came to the idea of a figure sitting in a tree.(?) Hope it works! Thks everyone for the questions and comments along the way. It's been really fun, and I'm glad to have joined the CG Society. I'm currently engulfed with personnel work, but should be back to posting very soon! Thks and good luck to everyone with the challenge, and their personnel work! Here is a poem I wrote to accompany the piece: CARBON Tangible death, rushing from the root. Answering to the sky, a carbon truth. Peeled and flowing, sliding through the bark, untouched unharmed, blatant and loathing. Tell me why the flowers keep swaying? Do they feed from the shadows? Does he know they're growing? Eyes fixed, thoughts bind. |

Having in mind to do something with „lava“, I first created the lava-stream in the foreground (based on photographs and ideas) and then went through several steps of backgrounds and surroundings (modern city, berlin 1945 etc.) until I finally decided to go this way (ancient pompej)... That's why there is so plenty of property like books, jars etc. The centre point of this image is the burning pentagram, which has ability to open the door between different dimensions.
